Maternity and Newborn Sessions | Philadelphia Photographer
I love when families choose to do maternity and newborn sessions with me! It is so incredible to photograph an expectant mother in her glowing anticipation of her child, and then mere weeks later capture the love and excitement of the proud parents holding that child in their arms.
This family did just that. Layla absolutely rocked her maternity session with poise and elegance. Then, weeks later, baby Shayan and dad Jag joined in for the perfect newborn session as well.
The Maternity Session
Maternity sessions are a wonderful way to celebrate the strength and beauty of a mother. Even if we don't always feel beautiful during pregnancy (we can be achy, sore, tired), what your body is doing is creating life! That itself is so incredibly beautiful. My goal for your maternity session is for you to feel as beautiful in the photos as you truly are.
Still unsure about having a maternity session? Check out my blog post for 7 reasons why you should.
Layla is such a gorgeous mom! She was so angelic in the white lace maternity gown that we absolutely had to add the angel wings to complete the look. She also gave off a strong, fierce energy that shows she will love and protect her baby always.
The Newborn Session
Baby Shayan was born on February 10, 2020, and is so perfectly adorable in every way. He even showed up ready to shoot with (naturally) perfectly styled, super soft hair. Shayan was so cute and so sleepy during his entire session.
Though I adore a wide awake photo of any baby, newborns always photograph best when they are sleepy. They are more likely to snuggle up to cozy props, like this cute teddy bear, and less likely to wriggle out of the adorable poses we love so much.
A sleeping newborn also allows us to capture all of the tiniest features that change so quickly as they grow. Their soft eyelashes, the curves of the lips, the feet that fit in the palm of your hands.
Baby Shayan did such an amazing job of posing for this session, he even received a celebratory fist-bump from Dad. So much love!
