FAQ

What should I wear?

You don’t have to figure this out on your own. Prior to your session, we’ll meet for a styling consultation where we’ll talk through outfits, colors, textures, and the overall look we want to create. For maternity sessions, we can also discuss gowns, fabrics, and other pieces available for your session. Everything is thoughtfully planned so your final images feel cohesive and timeless.

Do you provide hair and makeup?

Professional hair and makeup can be added to your experience and is something I highly recommend, especially for maternity and women’s portrait sessions. We can talk through the look you’re envisioning during your consultation and decide what feels right for you.

Can my partner or children be included in my session?

Of course. While we’ll make sure to create plenty of beautiful portraits that focus on you, your partner and children are welcome to be part of your maternity session. We’ll plan their wardrobe along with yours so everything photographs beautifully together.

When should I schedule my maternity session?

I recommend reaching out during your second trimester whenever possible. Maternity portraits are typically photographed around 28–34 weeks, when your belly is beautifully defined but you’re hopefully still comfortable enough to enjoy your session.

Do you retouch my images?

Yes. Every final portrait is carefully edited and professionally retouched while still keeping you looking like you. My approach is polished but natural—I want you to recognize yourself and feel beautiful when you look at your photographs.

How much should I expect to invest?

Your session fee covers the planning, styling consultation, photography experience, and the time and artistry that go into creating your portraits. Portraits and collections are purchased separately, allowing you to choose exactly what you love. Most clients choose to invest in a collection of their favorite images. Full pricing information is available on the Investment page.

How do I choose my photographs?

After your session, you’ll have the opportunity to view your finished images and choose the portraits you love most. You’ll select the collection that best fits what you would like to take home, with the option to add additional images and artwork.

Where will my session take place?

Most maternity and women’s portrait sessions take place in the studio, where we can completely control the lighting and create the fine-art, editorial look my work is known for. Depending on the vision for your session, we can also discuss incorporating an outdoor location.

How do I book?

Simply reach out through the contact form to get started. We’ll talk a little about what you’re looking for, answer any questions you have, and make sure we’re a good fit. From there, we’ll reserve your session and begin planning something beautiful together.

Do you still offer Newborn Photography?

Yes! While my primary focus is now maternity and women’s portraiture, I still photograph newborns on a limited basis. These sessions are available primarily for returning clients and maternity clients. If you’re expecting and would love to include a newborn session as part of your experience, please reach out and we can talk about what you’re envisioning.
